Want to work in Radio? Now you can!

RECRUITING NOW for COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT VOLUNTEERS

Diversity FM wants to give local people just like you a chance to become involved in running the district's community radio station. There are no experience, age, gender or ethnic barriers here, everyone is as valued as the next person, whether you’re someone with many years experience in working in radio or someone who is just interested in having a go.

Anyone wishing to work on the station becomes a Volunteer and as such we’ll offer you training to help you develop skills in the areas you are interested in, be it presenting a specialist music programme, hosting on-air debates on local issues, gathering news, making documentaries, technical work, interviewing, administration etc.

Our present need is for people who are interested in helping us generate spoken content about community issues such as politics, health, disabilities etc. For the present time we are suspending recruitment of people who want to just DJ or present music only based shows.

Would those interested in volunteering please note that as from September 2010 membership of the YMCA is required in order to take part in the Diversity FM radio project as a volunteer. There is an annual cost of £52 to register as a member which equates to £1 per week. This fee will be taken quarterly and will help to safeguard the survival of Diversity FM in these challenging economic times.
